20 Years of God’s Faithfulness
A letter from our family at Red Roots & Iglesia El Jireh
In dark times, the light of Jesus shines even brighter.
Here in Bolivia, we’re seeing that truth unfold daily. Our country is facing deep brokenness. The economy is in crisis. Political uncertainty looms. Drug cartel activity is growing. Abuse, fatherlessness, alcoholism, and addiction are rampant. Hopelessness is the air many breathe.
And yet — in the midst of it all — the Church has a mission: to be a beacon of hope.
At Iglesia El Jireh, the local church we’ve walked alongside for two decades, that light is burning bright. In just the last month, 15 people were baptized. Our Sunday gatherings are overflowing — literally. Some weeks we don’t have enough chairs. Our air conditioners can’t keep up with the heat, and still, people stay. They come to hear the gospel. They come to encounter the love of Jesus.
And he meets them.
This moment feels even more miraculous when we think back to 2018. That year, everything nearly came to a halt. The pastor resigned, and the doors of Iglesia El Jireh were about to close for good. We never set out to pastor a church again — but there we were, holding on to what God had started years before. What followed was, in many ways, a church replant. A fresh beginning. A painful pruning. A necessary obedience.
We’ve always believed that the Church and the community are an ecosystem — one cannot thrive without the other. And so we stayed. We prayed. We worked. We rebuilt.
Fast forward to 2025 — and here we are.
As we reflect on the last 20 years, we’re humbled by how far God has brought us. Through hardship, doubt, and spiritual warfare, God has been faithful. We’ve learned to lean on Him, trust His voice, and follow even when the path is unclear.
And now, more than ever, we believe God is not finished with Iglesia El Jireh.
He’s just getting started.
He has preserved this church for a reason:
To bring restoration to the broken.
To shine His light in a country that desperately needs hope.
To proclaim that Jesus is still the answer.
Maybe you’re going through a dark time of your own.
Maybe you’ve gotten bad news, or face uncertainty that feels overwhelming.
Let our story encourage you today:
God is still God. He still sits on the throne. He still has plans for you.
And yes, He wants to use you — and even your situation — for His glory.
To those who have prayed, given, and walked with us over the years — thank you. Your support has mattered. Your prayers have sustained us. And your partnership continues to bear fruit.
Please keep praying for Bolivia, and for our church. Pray that we will continue to be led by the Spirit, empowered by His grace, and obedient in the mission He’s given us. That His will would be done in Trinidad, Bolivia — as it is in heaven.
With grateful hearts,
The Red Roots Family
